Match Today: Juventus vs Salernitana 11-09-2022 Serie A

Juventus will seek to return to winning ways with its return to Serie A against Salernitana.

Turin giants Juventus will return to Serie A matches this weekend after their narrow 2-1 defeat to French champions Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League earlier this week.

In a game of two halves, the Italians weathered the storm in the first 45 minutes before climbing up the second half with a strong, if unsuccessful, second half.

This hunger and desire the team as a whole displayed at Parc des Princes will be something Massimiliano Allegri will be looking to guide in the coming weeks with a home game against Salernitana that will allow the Bianconeri to settle in and rediscover their winning touch.

Juventus currently have a four-point advantage over Atalanta who top the table and cannot afford to lose any more points, especially at home, doing so could do irreparable damage to their charge in the Scudetto.

Juventus vs Salernitana

Salernitana has six points, which is reasonable from the opening five games given his struggles last season.

A surprise win on the night would see Juventus draw on points in the Serie A standings. The Bianconeri have shown that they have a weak hand when teams attack them head-on, and that's something Salernitana would do better.

The Bianconeri enter the game as one of four Serie A teams yet to be defeated in the league this season however, with just two wins in five, they are not convincing.

Massimiliano Allegri is also suffering from multiple injuries to contend with key players and will once again have to put a team away from full strength.

Paul Pogba and Federico Chiesa are long absentees and are joined on the sidelines by Caio Jorge and Marley Aki.

Wojciech Szczesny is still off the field which means Mattia Perin will continue to deservedly continue in goal.

Salernitana vs Juventus

Juventus have won four of their last six matches against Salernitana and kept five clean sheets.

Salernitana has lost all six Serie A matches against teams from Piedmont. The last time Salernitana scored an away goal against a Piemonte team was in 1947 against Turin.

Juventus have failed to win consecutive Serie A matches at home since March 2022, and Juventus scored in the first ten minutes in their last three Serie A matches.

Boulay Día is the first player in Salernitana history to score three goals in the club's first five Serie A matches.

If Antonio Candreva scored that night, he would become the first player to score for seven different Serie A teams.
